Who's Flying Over My Home?

Here are some tools that can help you identify who's flying over your home.

Every general aviation aircraft licensed with the FAA has a unique N-number, which is helpful if you need to report a problem with a specific flight. Flight tracking software will give you the N-number of the aircraft.

Flight Tracking Software

Two flight trackers that we commonly use are:

Both are free of charge or offer a free trial period.

When you have a plane's N-number, plug it into this "FAA Inquiry" form to identify the owner.

FlightRadar24 sometimes does not show military and law enforcement flights -- they're more likely to show up on ADS-B Exchange.

In the flight tracker, you can also click on a plane to show its flight track, and use your device's screen capture to snap a picture to share with others.

Screen Captures

Here's how to capture a screen image on some common devices:

    • Windows PC: Control + Print Screen
    • Mac: Command+Shift+4
    • iPhone: Side Button + Volume Up Button
    • iPad: Top Button + Either Volume Button
    • Android: Power Button + Volume Down Button
